Haka: Men's haka of defiance to Hitler
Song: ‘He Putiputi koe’
Karakia: A canoe hauling chant by Tainui. Introduced and explained by Sir Apirana Ngata. A chant that the Tainui people sang when they dragged their canoe across the Tāmaki Isthmus to the Manukau Harbour six centuries ago. The song is performed by Te Whanau Apanui and was led by Rapata Kingi (Te Kaha) and Wharemoana (Maraenui)
