A television dramatisation of Ian Cross's book The Godboy which tells the story of Jimmy Sullivan, a young boy growing up in a small seaside town. At first he considers himself on God's side, a Godboy, but as life begins to turn sour on him he concludes that God is deliberately making things difficult for him and enters into a private feud with the Almighty. At the root of all of Jimmy's troubles are his parents whose marriage is breaking down and its final tragic result is seen through Jimmy's eyes.
