Epi Shalfoon and his Melody Boys perform an item on a Marae at Rotorua - [Ohinemutu or Whakarewarewa] An advertisement for the band.
0 ft. Seven members of the EPI SHALFOON MELODY BOYS jazz band set up on Marae setting in Rotorua ready to play. Dressed in open neck white shirts, rolled up sleeves and black trousers. From the left is sax player, pianist, banjo player, drummer, tuba and clarinet players. To the fore is Epi Shalfoon who says,"Ladies and gentlemen I wish to introduce to you, Rotorua's famous jazz band?"
9 ft. He then takes his place in middle of band and they proceed to play the tune “He Puru Taitama e”. All members of the band are sitting except for the tuba player and Epi who stands playing his sax and moving to the rhythm as do the band boys in their own restricted way.
76 ft. Epi Shalfoon standing with both hands in his pockets announces, "Watch the newspapers, this band will be playing real dance music in your town soon!"
