PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS: New Zealand's first ploughing championship held at Mr G Hunter's farm near Oamaru. The contestants, winners ploughing championships around the country, are competing in the Atlantic Silver Plough. The winner was Jim Brooker, who received his prize from Oamaru MP, Tom Hamon.
