SUNDAY IDYLL

This amateur film was created by Fred O’Neill who created many films, specialising in stop motion and claymation animation techniques.
The film’s narrative begins with a husband and his wife trying to sleep in for the weekend but being awoken by the family dog.
The day becomes progressively worse for the husband as his wife uses his razor to sharpen a pencil, continually disturbs him as he tries to enjoy the newspaper and his pipe and starts dusting, vacuuming and cleaning while he attempts to relax.
The final straw is when his wife’s friend comes to visit and he has to listen to their gossip, he retires to the car, turns on the radio and settles in to read a copy of Pix magazine.
