This silent, colour home movie as part of the CR Lovatt collection.

The footage begins with a group of people, recreational fishing at sea from a boat. Shots of fish and seagulls as well as nearby islands can be seen.

A large fish [marlin] is seen strung up on a boat in port near the Whangarei Deep Sea Anglers Club with people looking on.

A woman sits on a porch of a house with a view out to sea.

A large kauri tree is felled with a chainsaw in a forested area.

A young girl in a dress and bow in her hair walks on a lawn towards the camera.

The scene returns to kauri tree logs in a mill and then being taken away on a red truck.

Other trees [pine] are felled by men and lifted onto a truck.

A line of men pose for the camera on the roadside and the sign ‘C R LOVATT & SONS LTD’ can be seen in the background.

More men felling a large kauri tree with saws and chainsaws. A group of people look on. A woman in the group plays with a camera. The men all pose on the log when the tree is down and then they proceed to cut it into smaller pieces.

Four men stand on the deck of a red truck as it drives past the camera.
A black car is seen driving through a field of felled logs with the red truck following it.
