Originally captured on 16mm black & white film, this home movie is from the collection of Dr W.R. Lawrence (MBE 1952) who was a medical practitioner in Te Aroha.

Children in sun hats climb a tree and ascend a hillside track overlooking Waihi Beach. Views of the beach and batch settlement, large waves crashing on rocks.
The children eat snacks and climb on the rails of a footbridge. They wade in the shallows at the beach then draw pictures in the sand.
