Originally captured on 16mm black & white film, this home movie is from the collection of Dr W.R. Lawrence (MBE 1952) who was a medical practitioner in Te Aroha.
This home movie was mostly filmed at Waihi beach and includes shots of; Waves breaking on to rocks and the sandy beach, children playing on the beach, motorcars parked on the beach, holidaymakers enjoying the water, children with inflatables, Ted Brown’s General Store & Milk Bar, Children beside creek and “Water Reserve Keep Out” sign. Houses, batches, tents and playground near the beach.
