PERSONAL RECORD. [SHERBURD, FOSTER]

This is a black and white and colour silent home movie from the Sherburd, Foster collection.

Two young girls look at the camera from a [the Foster’s] garden lawn.

The camera pans from the view of a house and a man is seen walking down the side of a [hall] carrying a child. There is a sign out the front saying, ‘WEEK END MISSION.’

A young child walks down a garden path with a flower in hand which they have picked from the garden.

A family follow the young child around the garden. A woman hangs washing on a clothesline while the young child still wanders around the garden, smelling and looking at flowers.
A woman picks up the child which is followed by a man in suit who picks up the child and they pose for the camera.
The child is seen in a highchair outside the house with a teddy bear.
A woman sits on the step of a house knitting with the child next to her.
A man walks towards and past the camera with two cars parked in a driveway with the woman and child still sitting on the step.
A man who is shirtless, barefoot with only trousers on, speaks to the woman sitting on the step. He seems to notice he is being filmed and attempts to hide.
The child is given a small trophy to hold.
Other adults and the child are seen in the sun in the garden outside the steps of the house.

A woman and the same child are seen walking on a walkway on shoreline and car park.

Children are seen picking grapes from the home garden.

A woman leaves the garden through a gate with two children.

A shot of a kauri tree with a sign on it, ‘PLEASE KEEP OUT’. People stand beneath the tree.

Footage returns to people and children in the garden. The children pose for the camera waving and smiling.

The footage switches to colour and pink and white [floxgloves] can be seen in the garden. One of the children holds a bunch of flowers and poses for the camera.
Another child plays with a cane pram and doll and swings on a swing.

A woman poses with three children. All are dressed in good clothing.

Town Christmas lights are seen decorated on a building all lit up at night time.

A group is seen at the train station greeting one another.
