Donald Burnett, owner of the Mount Cook sheep station and keen amateur filmmaker, shot the films in this collection between 1950 and 1969.

Sheep grazing in a high tussocky valley. In a sheltered bend of an alpine river, a small group of ducks swim around. Wider views reveal a man in a hat watching the birds. At the head of the river valley the snow covered Mount Cook can be clearly seen.
