Filmed by George Thorn, assistant manager of the 1960 New Zealand Olympic team to Rome.

The XVII Olympiad was held in Rome from 25 August to 11 September 1960. New Zealand sent a team of 38 athletes and ten officials, flag-bearer for the team was Les Mills.
