This actuality shows scenes from public events in Tauranga in the late 1950s, including festivities at Memorial Park, Māori cultural events at the Soundshell, pōhiri at Judea Pā and Floral Festivals from 1957 and 1960.

Scenes at Memorial Park show crowds watching a large marching display by teams from Auckland.
Scenes from a Māori cultural event at the Soundshell ["Māori Folk Day"] includes speeches, cultural performances, stalls and rides and uncovering a hāngī.

Following footage shows Sir Walter Nash being welcomed at the Judea Pa, including the pōhiri ceremony, haka, and poi performance including [Miss Smith] performing with three long string poi.

Footage from the Tauranga Industries Exhibition and Fair [organised by the Chamber of Commerce] features speeches and crowds exploring the exhibiton stalls.

A title slate announces 'CHRISTMAS 1957', followed by footage of Pohutukawa blooms with a church steeple in the background.

Scenes from the Bay of Plenty Floral Festival in January [1957] show a street parade follow with various themed floats and performers and flowers in the Begonia House in Robbins Park.

The final footage is from the 1960 Bay of Plenty Floral Festival. Scenes show: a floral themed float being worked on outside with the date 1960 displayed; a train going through town; various floats parading down the street; various floral displays in a hall, outside in the streets and in shop windows.
