Part 2 of 2
Talk:- "The 35th Battalion in the Nissan Operation" by Lieutenant
Colonel J. F. Moffatt, Commanding Officer.
"On the third day the objective was South Point. On the fourth day
patrols were sent towards the Mission where it was expected the enemy
would be found, but no contacts were made. The following day an assault
was made on the Mission but the Japanese had fled. An hour later we were
joined by the 30th Battalion, moving from the north. On the following
day the remaining Japanese were discovered at Taneheran and were
prevented from escaping south by Lieutenant Clouston's platoon".
