A continuation of greetings from New Zealand men on board a troop ship [The Empress of Japan.] Commentator Doug Laurenson [Military Service no. 34957] notes that they are not able to mention the name of the port they have just visited [Fremantle, Western Australia.]

Greetings are heard from:
Jim of Frankton Junction. He greets Doll and Ian of Chilcott Road and also Mum and Dad in Riverton. He also greets Flo in New Plymouth on behalf of Ern.

John of Whangarei. Also greets Doreen in Auckland and Jack at Rongotai.

Roy of Southland greets 4YZ Invercargill and sends a cheerio to Norm of School House, Balfour and Banks St, Invercargill, Gore and Bluff.

This item is part of a collection of recordings made by the Mobile Broadcasting Units, which travelled overseas with New Zealand forces between 1940-1945. They recorded New Zealanders' experiences of war and messages to their families and friends, which were sent back home to be played on a weekly radio programme.
