Part 2 of 4.
Captain Joseph King [military service number 9631], occasional sports commentator with the New Zealand Broadcasting Unit, presents a programme on sports in the 2 N.Z.E.F. in the Middle East.

Dennis Coombe [military service number 536], who is a well-known New Zealand tennis player [a Davis Cup player] continues his talk about tennis being played in Egypt by New Zealand men as well as local players. He makes mention of Dunedin player Brian Boyd whom he played against in a recent charity match for the Red Cross.

Captain King then describes recent cricket matches played by the New Zealand Division.

This item is part of a collection of recordings made by the Mobile Broadcasting Units, which travelled overseas with New Zealand forces between 1940-1945. They recorded New Zealanders' experiences of war and messages to their families and friends, which were sent back home to be played on a weekly radio programme.
