Checkpoint programme starts after the news and short weather forecast.
1. Prices continue to slide on the stockmarket today - the Barclays Index fell 16 points which means that the market has fallen for 7 consecutive days. Although world sharemarkets have remained weak since October's crash, most have recovered some ground.
Report by Bronwen Evans
Peter Baines, Managing Director, Tower Trust Services
2. In Fiji, Ratu Sir Kamises Mara looks to be back in the driving seat - just as he was for 17 years until Timoci Bavadra's Indian-dominated Coalition Party won the April Election. Ratu Mara's been reappointed Premier by Brigadier-General Rabuka, who has stepped down as head of government.
Report by Kim Hill
Robert Keith-Reid, Islands Business Magazine, Suva
Dr Deryck Scarr, Expert Fijian Politics, ANU, Canberra
3. The Development Assistance Committee of the OECD is critical of New Zealand efforts in a number of areas including the administration and the amount of aid we give Pacific nations.
Report by Kelivn Dick
Fran Wilde, Associate Foreign Minister
