New Music Survey - December 1990 Edition is presented by William Dart. This programme is devoted to a number of NZ composers who have made a significant contribution to this sesquicentennial year, 1990. He talks with Christopher Blake, Peter Scholes, Eve de Castro-Robinson and John Elmsly about the APO Fanfare and the works which they contributed. Warwick Blair talks about the Cook Island influences in his work which was drawn from texts of poems, folklore and the culture. God, love and stories play a big role. He also has an excerpt from this work with himself as singer, using the popular music medium. Brigid Bisley talks about reflecting the NZ landscape through a work and also Indian influences in another piece, which was her first work using dance. Susan Frykberg talks about environmental concerns and using the elements in her composing, particularly in the electronic medium. Includes musical excerpts. They are:
