Announcer Lorraine Rishworth describes the Queen's standard flying outside the Commercial Hotel in Whangarei on December 28, 1953.
Earlier in the day they visited Kaikohe and Waitangi. Announcer Eric Lowe [?] describes the Royal Daimler passing by on the Kamo road. Announcer Isobel Andrews describes the crowds at Kensington corner, amid cheering crowds.
In Kensington Park large crowds welcomed the Queen, who was met by the Prime Minister and the Mayor Mr James, who speaks. The Queen replies.
A book about the kauri tree and a casket of kauri gum is presented.
Announcer Barry McNamara describes the royal couple leaving the park.
Don Donaldson interviews Julia Corsbie [?], a Girl Guide about her impressions of the Queen.
