A two-part Spectrum documentary.

In 1888, 150 troops took the field against a group of Hokianga Māori. The object was to subdue a "rebel" force who refused to pay the dog tax and threatened the town of Rawene.

Alywn Owen looks at the events that led to the last time European troops took the field against their Māori fellow-countrymen.
