On tour with Toogood is a quiz show with compere Selwyn Toogood. This is the first time a quiz show has been broadcast from Stewart Island. He asks questions to competitors and if correct, they get an envelope stating what their prize is; for example - irons, a trip with NAC or a television. The programme proceeded after the crash landing of ZK-AVM, an amphibian aircraft carrying Toogood from Invercargill. The plane nose-dived into Halfmoon Bay on the 24 October 1968. He and the pilot escaped without injury, but the plane and its contents sank to the bottom of Halfmoon Bay. Toogood presents the show wrapped only in a blanket, as no suitable clothes big enough for him were found in time. He lost a lens from his glasses and relies on an assistant to read the names of the competitors.
