Recorded to mark Braille Week 1975. Julian Lee, a blind pianist, is interviewed by Les Andrews about his music and career. Talks about meeting Duke Ellington in 1964 and how sorry he was to hear of death. Thought he was a 'far out' player back in the 1930's. Explains about working with Crombie Murdoch and their styles and how they work together as they are both pianists. Recalls meeting Dave Brubeck in the States and Australia and working with him on television shows in Australia. Describes a day in the life of Julian Lee. He uses a guide dog and how he gets around the house. Works as the manager of Library Services at the School For The Blind. Lee also plays alto saxophone along with other instruments. Talks about composing 'Freeway' in 1970 and how he writes music and his use of tape and braille for composing. Discusses blindness in general and that there is a great deal that they are able to do.
