In this recording, Magnus Pike, a British scientific writer and broadcaster, talks with Jim Sullivan. He believes the Prime Minister is trying to raise our standard of living, but thinks that our standard of living doesn't need raising but rather we need to raise our spiritual expectations and lower our living expectations. Looks at New Zealand's future and attitudes to inflation and lifestyles. He also reflects on the value Māori place on family ties, especially at family events like funerals.
NB: In the card catalogue it says that he is 'something of an outspoken character' and this item has been kept as an example of his style.
