Insight, 1979, No.1 - Nambassa.

This documentary is about the alternative lifestyles festival at Nambassa in January 1979. 70,000 people attended workshops covering such topics as religion, medicine, food, music, education, low cost housing, ham radio, wind energy, pottery, etc.

The documentary opens with an excerpt of Split Enz performing 'Bold as Brass'. Several unidentified participants are interviewed including one of the festival organisers, Peter Terry, who talks about the alternative lifestyles the festival is promoting.

There is actuality of Hare Krishna-style chanting and Christian singing and clapping. A Salvation Army spokesman explains why they are at the festival.

A woman talks about promoting alternative health therapies and healing at the festival.

Montessori education spokesman talks about alternative education coming back into favour. Then a low-cost home building workshop lead by an unnamed American man from Tokoroa.
