Questions are being asked about the role of the Ministry of Commerce in the setting up of Aotearoa Television. The NBR reports this morning that many of the decisions in its setup were made by the Ministry, and also that the independence of the funding agency, Te Mangai Paho, was limitied by the Ministry. Live interview with the NBR story's author, Tom Frewen. More questions are being raised over NZ First MP, Tuku Morgan's election expenses. United leader, Peter Dunne, is suggesting he may have committed a corrupt electoral process known as 'treating'. Wrap with Peter Dunne and Dover Samuels and Marie Hosking.
Regarding the lead story, Communications Minister, Maurice Williamson, is refusing to comment on suggestions Commerce Ministry officials
advised him months ago of problems at Aoteaoa Television.
Maurice Williamson comments now on the earlier story regarding Aoteaoa Television.
