O'Regan, Rolland, Speaker/Kaikōrero

A recording of an excerpt from a speech given by Rolland O'Regan, the President of the Citizen's All Black Tour Association, at the final meeting of the organisation.

Their protests against the non-inclusion of Māori players in the All Black team to tour South Africa in 1960 failed. A Māori team was sent instead to the Pacific Islands and the all-white All Blacks went to South Africa.

Mr O'Regan says CABTA is now being wound-up, but discrimination against Māori continues and will only be eliminated with time and patience. However, as the Māori urban population is growing, it is an urgent matter before New Zealand's race relations deteriorate.
