A short recording made and introduced by keen amateur astronomer, writer, TV presenter and radio actor, Peter Read.
He was at Cape Kennedy for the launch of Apollo 15, and this covers the 60 seconds before takeoff and the sound of the launch itself.
Used in the Radio New Zealand series, Golden Kiwis, produced in 1999 to mark the millennium.
