Radio New Zealand Concert, Broadcaster

Over 5 episodes Wayne Brittenden explores the history of patriotism and nationalism (yes there is a difference), in music with academics from home and abroad.

About Wayne: After a long career as a foreign correspondent in several Asian and European capitals, award-winning journalist Wayne Brittenden now divides most of his time between NZ and London. He is best known in NZ for his 2.5 year long Counterpoint current affairs series on RNZ National. His book, The Celluloid Circus, a social history of the heyday of the Kiwi picture theatre, was the subject of a recent documentary on RNZ Concert. Wayne is also author of www.politicalcompass.org
