Part 4 was followed by half an hour of talkback on heart matters with Dr Kevin O'Bryan, cardiologist at Auckland Public Hospital, and Dr S. Faris, a GP with a practice in Takapuna.

THE PUMP (on 10" ORT 97/112/3/5+6)
The series concluded with a dramatisation of "The Pump", written by James Cameron. This play is based on the author's own experience of major heart surgery following a jeep crash in India in 1971. It won the 1973 Italia Prize for the most original new radio work of the year, after its original production by the BBC.
NB This is not the BBC version. This version was produced in Auckland by Roy Layward for RNZ with technical direction from Ray Pavitt.
