Whakatane Board Mills

D SERIES - "The Board Mills", a documentary form the "Wealth From Trees" series" about the Whakatane board mill where items such as raw cardboard, cardboard butter boxes, and paper are manufactured. The programme consists of interviews, comments, field sound and commentary. Parts of the mill and processes are described, including the barking drum, log grinder, beating drums, the board machine, turbines, and the mill laboratory with Mr Ludwig Hahn and Mr Geoffrey Fynes. Comments also from draftsman Kenneth Shure, shift foreman Les Smart, and production superintendent Mr Mowen.
