A one-hour sampling of Southern Star, broadcasting on AM 963 Khz in Christchurch.
This is Radio New Zealand’s AM Network used for the broadcasts from Parliament, with transmitters throughout the country. When Parliament is not sitting, the transmitters carry the Southern Star programme from the Radio Rhema Broadcast Group.

The recording begins with the 1pm news and sports update (focus on Matata flooding), from TRN, read by Grant Elliott. Commercial breaks. From the Southern Star website:
"With more music and less talk, you’ll hear the Christian hits of yesteryear, instrumentals and contemporary hymns...
Southern Star broadcasts on 13 frequencies the length and breadth of the country."
