Canterbury Pilgrimage series, "The Corriedale Sheep" programme.
[This series was produced at station 3YA to mark the Canterbury Centennial and consists of music, narration, and interviews; telling the story of notable events and milestones in Canterbury history.]

Part one features an interview with James Little, a farmer of Hawarden. His grandfather founded the Corriedale breed. He discusses the characteristics of various sheep, including the merino, long-wool and "Down" breeds and tells the story of how the Corriedale sheep came to be bred.
Also featured is an interview with Carl Anderson, a sheep breeder and member of the Corriedale Sheep Society. He gives a brief history of the Corriedale Sheep Society.

Part two features an interview with P. G. Stevens, the senior lecturer in animal husbandry at Lincoln College. He talks about the Corriedale Merit Sire test. Also featured is another interview with James Little. Little talks in detail about the history of the Corriedale sheep, the Corriedale breeding process, and the future of the Corriedale breed.
Finally, international Corriedale authorities are heard speaking at the first world conference of Corriedale sheep breeders held at Lincoln College in 1950.
Dr Alberto Gaggenal [?] of Uruguay, Arthur King of Wyoming and Mr Wallman of South Australia give brief reports of current Corriedale populations in their countries.
