PARLIAMENT TVNZ: TVNZ's tense relationship with Parliament got worse today with revelations that the just departed Chairman Craig Boyce described MPs investigating the company as enemy bastards. The email written to former chief executive Ian Fraser in the lead up to a select committee inquiry last year, is part of email correspondence between the two men released under the Official Information Act to National MP Murray McCully. Mr Boyce says he was very angry at the time. (PRE-REC).

TRIAL - MURDER: A High Court jury has heard how a South Auckland woman pleaded for her life, as she was bound, stuffed inside a duvet, and thrown into a stream. Dean Joseph Shepherd, 45, is on trial for the murder of Manurewa businesswoman, Darunee Aphiromlerk, in October 2004. Reporter Brad Markham has been at the High Court in Auckland and he joins us now. TASMANIA MINE: Two miners, trapped in a Tasmanian mine for six days and given up for dead until this morning, still have a long wait for rescue. They've been surviving with the help of rancid water dripping down the walls of the Beaconsfield Gold mine, and workers are now drilling a hole through to the men to pass food and drink. But officials say it could be another two days before rescuers are able to get through the 12-metres of rock to reach the pair. Bill Shorten from the Australian workers Union says the men aren't safe yet. (AUDIO)

HEALTH DEFENCE: The Health Minister Pete Hodgson has launched a major defence of the Government's record in health - and is accusing National of trying to create a sense of crisis. After six months in the job, Mr Hodgson today gave his first major speech in the portfolio, saying Labour has delivered tangible improvements in services. Julian Robins filed this report.
MARITIME COLLISION: The Master of a container ship which collided with the old Mangere Bridge during a storm in Auckland last year, should never have left the Onehunga port in such rough conditions. HEALTH HOUSING: A new study of people on waiting lists for state housing has found they have significantly more health problems than Housing New Zealand tenants. The findings by the Housing and Health Research Programme at the University of Otago shows that people in state houses are less likely to go to hospital than those on the waiting lists for housing. TRIAL GANGS: A High Court jury in Christchurch has begun hearing the case against two people accused of murdering a former Road Knights gang member.
