Rebecca Scott reports that further French nuclear testing at Mururoa atoll has been raised in Parliament.

Opposition Leader Sir Robert Muldoon says he had been told by France that testing would finish and says an explanation is called for.

Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Palmer says the Government is protesting and will mount a diplomatic offensive. He says his government was not given any such information by France but is appalled that tests could continue for another 15 years.

Greenpeace spokeswoman Elaine Shaw says they will fight on to stop nuclear testing in the Pacific.
