Royal Tour, HRH, the Queen Mother, 1958 - New Plymouth Civic Reception

Peter Hunter describes the scene as the royal cars head towards Pukekura Park. He then crosses to Murray Hewson who reports on the scene at the park.
* Arrival of HRH, the Queen Mother, at the park.
* School children cheering, about 7000 present.
* Proceeds to the dais.
* Queen Mother presented to dignitaries.
* ‘God Save The Queen’.
* Mayoress present HRH with a bouquet of flowers.
* The Mayor, Mr. A.G. Honor(?), welcomes the Queen Mother.
* New Plymouth Girls’ Choir sing 2 songs.
* Queen Mother replies.
* Presentation of guests from the town council and members of parliament.
* Description of the flowers on the dais.
* Three cheers.
* HRH mingles with the crowd, chats to the girls’ choir.
* Cars move off from the park and head towards the Criterion Hotel.
* Brass band plays a march. Murray Hewson crosses back to Peter Hunter.
* Peter Hunter describes the scene in the streets near the hotel.
* Bill Leathwick reports on the scene in front of the Criterion Hotel.
* HRH arrives to big cheers from the crowd.
