Outspoken Western Samoan MP Misa Foni Retzlaff speaks out on New Zealand immigration policy.
The minister of Immigration Mr Bill Birch has been saddened by Misa's criticism, and says New Zealand takes seriously the consultation process under the Treaty of Friendship with Western Samoa.

An international conference in Auckland on the climate in the South Pacific winds up today. About a hundred scientists have spent the last week discussing issues like whether pacific nations can use predictions about future sea-level increases or climate changes as a basis for action.
Dame Catherine Tizard says New Zealanders must be ready to review their own personal lifestyles as members of that section of humanity which has consumed a large share of the world's resources in recent times.

Doctor Robin Hargar of UNESCO, one of the main sponsors, came down on the same side as Dame Catherine in a short address to the scientists.
