Ringatu: The Upraised Hand

Haare Williams and Henare Te Ua present a programme on the background of the man who founded the Ringatu Faith in bondage, and in the wilderness.

Te Kooti of Ngāti Maru was born at Paokahu and his family live in Manutuke. He married Irihapeti and had a son Te Wetini who had two children Rangi Rikirangi (male) educated at Manutuke and Te Aute College. His daughter Raukawa (Puti) educated at Manutuke then onto Hukarere College. Te Kooti died17 April 1893 aged 79 years.
