Pauline Tangiora of Mahia is NZ President of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, a Geneva based organisation.

She will be an accredited observer at the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit and will attend several non-government organisation conferences in Brazil and Bolivia.

She has mandates to observe the Earth Summit on behalf of the NZ Māori Council and the NZ Māori Women's Welfare League. She speaks with Hēnare te Ua about the conferences, the Māori perspectives and the role of women.
