The Fijian Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Harold Powell resigns from
his position. He resigned because the Prime Minister Siviniti Rambuka over rode
decisions he made over the Civial Aviation Authoirity.

Taufa is a husband and father and has worked with the mentally ill for many years,
he has just been appointed Cultural Officer by North Health to look after the needs
of Pacific Island people affected by Mental illnes.
- kaikōrero: Taufa Lerch? says his job is to see what the people need and what they
want, and what is lacking in terms of services for his people.

The Goverment has introduced a scheme to give tenants living in State Houses
around the counry to buy them. Few of the houses have been brought under the
scheme because of the difficulty faced by the people to raise money to buy them. A
large number of PI communities live in State Houses, and the Pacific Islands Housing
Chairperson Steve Niu Mata says the association is putting together a submission to
give to Goverment why the scheme is not working.

Manu Samoa Rugby team is in Auckland preparing themselves for their toughest
tour in South Africa next week as a build up to the world rugbu Cup. Players from
Wetern Samoa have joined their counterparts in NZ under the watchful eye of
fitness guru Jim Blair. Their team manager Taite Simi spoke with Elma Ma'ua.
