The Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Anglican Māori Mission) Khyber Pass,
was the venue for the dedication and launching of the new anthology of
Māori writing. "Into the world of light".

This was co-edited by Witi Ihimaera and Don Long the book contains writings
by thirty nine different Māori writers, poets and dramatists. Some of the
writings are gentle and lyrical, while some are violent and raw.

Many of the writers attended this dedication led by Auckland's Māori Missioner
Rev.Hone Kaa. Witi Ihimaera's parents from the Gisborne district were present as
well as other whanau members and friends.

- Speakers include: Tom Smiler (Witi's dad) David Heap, representing Heinemann's
publishers, Rowley Habib, and Witi Ihimaera.
