Prince Charles and Princess Diana, the Prince and Princess of Wales are welcomed at Waitangi 29th April 1983. The Royal couple arrived at KeriKeri airport and were met by the Chairman
of the Bay of Islands County Council, Mr. Mr JF McPherson, The General
Manager of the County Council, Mr. Laurie Ploughwright, and Mrs. Ploughwright.
This was a major assignment involving Te Reo o Aotearoa and Radio Northland.
Laurie Borck, Station Manager of Radio Northland was overall production
co-ordinator with Hēnare te Ua acting as adviser and commentator.
Staff included Laurie Borck, Wiremu Karekare, Heather Loveridge, Darryl
Ware, John Jones, Murray Madden and Hēnare te Ua. A coup was Hēnare te Ua's
direct broadcast from the Waka, Ngatokimatawhaorua with the Prince and Princess of Wales on board.
