MāORI FISHING RIGHTS:

Auckland's Aotea Square was the venue for a "Rally" suporting "Māori Fishing Rights" under the "Treaty of Waitangi"... organised under the support of:

- Hart (halt all racists tour)
- Accord (Auckland committee on racial discrimaination)
- Pcar (pakeha coalition against racisim) and many other groups.

The rally was supporting the recent Waitangi Tribunals land mark decision
regarding the Muriwhenua Fishing Rights and allied matters and supporting
full implementation by the crown of the Waitangi conclusions of the
Muriwhenua claim. The rally also sought to make the Goverment aware of
Public support for the tribunals findings.. unfortunately poor publicity and a bitingly cold southerly wind saw only a handful of people attend the rally.

- speakers included Peter Turei, Milton Hohaia, Waatara Black, Mitzi Nairn,
and Archdeacon John Mullane.
