Radio New Zealand commercial network - Tonight Show, George Balani interviews Barry Crump.

Side 1: Barry talks about his childhood memories of his parents and hunting during his early life in the bush. He describes the circumstances around writing his first book (A Good Keen Man, 1960), and the intellectual influences behind his later books ‘Hang on a Minute Men’ & ‘Scrap Wagon’ and the group of writers he became involved with. He discusses publishing ‘Bastards I Have Met’ himself. He also talks about his marriages, family and how he purchased and looks after his current farm and his animals.

Side 2: Crump talks about having a vasectomy, his daily life, work on Radio Pacific and in television work. Balani asks about his gold mining experiences, the people he’s met while mining in Queenstown and his latest book ‘Wild Pork and Watercress’. Crump describes himself as a ratbag, talks about being a cult figure and reflects on life and his future plans.
