New Zealand. Government Printing Office

The government no longer owns the Government Printing Office. The Government Printing Office has been sold as a going concern to the Auckland based Rank group for 23 million dollars. Company executive director, Graeme Hart, talks about his company's purchase. PSA spokesperson, Ricky Clapham, criticises the government for selling the taxpayer short over the sale of the GPO. He says the taxpayers have been shortchanged and should be asking the government why an asset worth 120 million dollars was sold for a total of 43 million dollars. Opposition spokesperson for State Owned Enterprises, Ian McLean, says it is too soon to tell if the government has got a fair deal but the National Opposition will be investigating the sale.
