The Māori traditions of karanga, whaikorero, wero, haka, poi and waiata were shown to the largest ever audience through the international television link, from the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. Dr Pita Sharples was responsible for organising this part of the programme. He talks about the planning, practises and the costumes.
