Leading Māori activist Eva Rickard says the answer to the problems of the Māori people lies in the Treaty of Waitangi, not in armed struggle. She is responding to claims by another activist Atareta Poananga just back from Fiji who says there will be armed conflict in New Zealand if the Māori people continue to be denigrated.
