Greetings from Māori soldiers serving in Japan in late 1946 with D Squadron, Divisional Cavalry Regiment of J Force. Several speakers are not identified by name. Many send Christmas greetings to whānau in te reo Māori. [Military service numbers have been added where identities have been verified].
Part 2
An unidentified man [possibly Petuere Raroa 820982, who was introduced on the previous recording?] sends greetings in te reo Māori to Ngāti Porou, Te Whānau-a-Apanui, Sir Apirana Ngata and locations in Te Tai Rāwhiti. He ends by introducing the next speaker, Ivan Kerekere [408918]. He sends his greeting in te reo Māori and English to whānau in Whāngārā, Poho-o-Rawiri and Mangatū while part of the hymn 'Tama ngakau marie' is sung by the men.
Part 3

Major Monty Searancke introduces the recording in te reo Māori and names two of the following speakers as Paraone Henare and Himi Pou, sending greetings to Ngāpuhi iwi. Several men then sing a waiata Māori "E Te Hokowhitu a Tu" set to the tune of Glen Miller's 'In the Mood'. A man then sends greetings to Ngāpuhi in te reo Māori and in English greets Mr and Mrs Cowley of Auckland and his fiancee Susan Cowley.
An unidentified man [possibly Captain Paraone Henare] reads a list of the names of men from A Troop who send greetings to 'the home folk'. The following names are read out only:

Another unidentified man [possibly Himi Pou who was introduced earlier] sends greetings in te reo Māori and English to Kaikohe and Whangārei, and especially to his fiancee, Violet, while men sing in the background.
Part 4
Major Monty Searancke greets the people of Waikato, Maniapoto, Ngati Poneke, Ngati Raukawa, Kahungunu and the Waipounamu. He pays homage to Princess Te Puia and her whānau at Turangawaewae. He aknowlegdes the people of Te Kuiti and Hangatihi. He introduces Jackie Hotu [818346] to greet the people of Te Kuiti and Hangatiki; Joseph Taueki [815310] greetings to whānau in Levin; Raymond Blackmore [816641], sends greetings to whānau from Ngāti Raukawa, Ōtaki and the Hakaraia whānau of Palmerston North.
Part 5
Major Monty Searancke introduces further greetings in te reo Māori from Jack Paipa [4103] to whānau from Ngāti Raukawa, Muaupoko, Ngāti Poneke; James Niania [817905] sends greetings to Mahia, Wairoa and Ngāti Kahungunu; Lou Chapman [816642] sends greetings in English to Palmerston North and on behalf of two other men; Rua Herata (Roy) [821191] sends greetings in English to the Chatham Islands; Major Monty Searanke concludes by sending greetings on behalf of Tare Taite to his parents at Taihape and Tokaanu.
Hinga Grant [65184] is introduced to send greetings to Rotorua. [His voice is heard on ID9400 Tk 25].
This recording is one of a series made by the New Zealand Broadcasting Service stationed with J Force troops in Japan, 1946-1948. The recordings were sent back for playing on radio in New Zealand as part of the series 'With the Kiwis in Japan'.
