[Continuation from ID 9434.] Broadcaster Ulric Williams continues presenting a radio programme of recordings made with New Zealanders serving in Japan in 1946, as part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force, or J Force.

Greetings are heard from men who have been sitting New Zealand University examinations in Japan. Every assistance has been given to them by the Army Education Service, and some 52 men have sat examinations for their degrees while serving in Japan. [Military Service numbers are included after their names.]

Erin Hughes [656977] calls his mother and friends in Thorndon, Wellington; Lieutenant Bill Haig [10732] who is stationed at Chofu, sends greetings to his wife in Dunedin, parents and family. Bill Hooper [640641] who is based at Bofu greets his parents and family in Dunedin.

Joe Jones [658658] greets friends and relations in Khandallah, Wellington and elsewhere; Malcolm MacDonald [668521] greets family in Island Bay, Wellington; Stan Trounce [662397] who is based in Chofu sends greetings to Martinborough; Lieutenant Ray Leete [295737] calls his parents and Maisie in Ngaio, Wellington and John Jamieson [639676] of 22 Battalion, Chofu calls his family in Brooklyn, Wellington.

This recording is one of a series made by the New Zealand Broadcasting Service unit stationed with J Force troops in Japan, 1946-1948. The recordings were sent back for playing on radio in New Zealand as part of the series "With the Kiwis in Japan."
