New Zealand Broadcasting Service announcer Doug Smith [military service number 245154] presents a series of greetings from J Force reinforcements sailing on the ship Dunera, heading for Japan. This recording was made on the 19th July, 1947 at ZJV, the studios of the Fiji Broadcasting Company in Suva. Bob Durham, an official correspondent for J Force, also introduces some of the speakers. Military service numbers and locations to which they send a greeting have been added following the speakers' names, where identified:

This recording is one of a series made by the New Zealand Broadcasting Service unit stationed with J Force troops in Japan, 1946-1948. The recordings were sent back for playing on radio in New Zealand as part of the series 'With the Kiwis in Japan.'
