Auckland ultra distance runner, Sandy Barwick, is trying to break her world record for 1000 miles (1600 km). She is running in Wards Island, near Manhattan. Judy Lessing interviews Ms Barwick, and Steve Hollings, an exercise scientist and director of Auckland University's Sports Performance Unit. Mr Hollings is monitoring biochemical and psychological changes in Ms Barwick during her marathon.
