Bill Pullman, Fred in David Lynch’s Lost Highway, discusses his character and the plot. Talks about working through the ‘abstraction’ of the character. Discusses the level of freedom Lynch’s actors are allowed with their scripts. Discusses Lynch’s directing style in depth. Goes on to talk about the use of music within the film and during the filming. Talks about the feeling of the cast and crew of Lynch’s films. ‘A Pyschogenic Fugue’ is how Lynch describes the film. Pullman discusses the subplots of Lost Highway, likens it to Oedipus Rex. Jonathan asks if Pullman thinks David Lynch’s films are about David Lynch and not about the actors.
